Just tried to watch the coverage of the cycling on the BBC what a joke.
If the commentators haven’t a clue how on earth are we supposed to know what is going on?
It really was a complete farce, with probably just one time check between the peloton and the leaders in the last 10k
Is this a sign of things to come?
In fact – it’s not the BBC’s coverage… http://www.mediauk.com/tv/discussions/tv-chatter/olympics-bbc-cycling-coverage-a-disgrace explains all
No excuse for the commentators just guessing and making things up, I would rather they say they don’t know what’s happening and not have any information than having the wrong information.
The whole thing was a farce.
Although I haven’t really followed cycling since the excellent channel 4 coverage of the tour in the early to mid 90′s even I could see it wasn’t just a small break away by a bunch of no-hopers, especially as there were only effectively 3 or 4 riders in the main peloton doing any work.
The way the commentators were talking and saying how team GB were controlling everything it made it sound like a formality that the peloton would just sweep them up.
