  1. Hi Terry,

I saw in some search results screens today that you have your Google authorship status active and giving you enhanced results. Mine also kicked in for the first time today. I guess for bigger companies and multi-author blogs this may take a bit longer to sort out. It’s bound to help click-through rate. any thoughts?

    • Hi Ewan,

yes, mine started again yesterday, I had it showing a few months ago but it dropped off after a couple of days, will be interesting to see if it holds this time.

I don’t know if you have seen any of my posts about microdata over the past months?
I experiment with it a lot and also discovered how easy it is to manipulate the Google results with review stars showing in the SERPs – http://www.v1seo.co.uk/11/google-reviews-stars-in-google-results-manipulation-exposed/

It’s good in a way having the enhanced authorships showing, but a bit of a dilemna sometimes as I use Google+ for waffling away on too much, I also have numerous pages and would sometimes prefer the rel=publisher to over-ride the author.

Interestingly, it’s not just my V1 SEO site I am showing up with the authorship enhancements, search for this podline social networking and you will see me alongside one of my other blogs (time to get a better photo taken)

Maybe I ought to change my Gravatar avatar too so my image is more consistent.

  2. I just read your post about micro data. What a shocker!

I’ve really only just started using G+ so I can tailor my future content to take into account the G+ link appearing in the search results. My gut feel is that there’s a good chance of G+ beating out Facebook as a more business oriented social network.

Yes, which is another reason why I would prefer rel=publisher to over-ride rel=author

I have my personal Google+ Page but also a number of Google+ Business Pages, at the moment my author always overrides my publisher so the link goes back to my personal page rather than the page related to the business.

      Hope that makes sense ;o
